From MAPS President - John Hummel
I made the conversion from film to digital a little over fifteen years ago.
Since that time I have been a huge advocate of digital as technically superior to film in all ways. With a much greater dynamic range, digital is a far better choice for the types of images I take. I have never regretted the change at all.
However, in talking with someone at a meeting in December, he brought up a point I hadn’t thought about in a while. He said that, although digital has become technically superior to film, he really wondered if the quality of the work we produce, from an artistic point-of-view is as good as it was when we shot film.
