His first camera came Christmas 1968, a Kodak Instamatic (you know, the one with the flash Cube)! And it was always around his neck like a tourist. Who knew pulling ribbon from that box could create a life long hobby? He studied photography in High School and had his own darkroom
At 18, he vacationed from Michigan west to Colorado and having never seen “mountains” before, his life was changed. Life was now about traveling and shooting Landscapes! In 1978 at 21 he moves west and ends up in Venice Beach, CA., (you’ve been there). Having never seen “different” before his life was changed. Life was now about traveling, and... a “different” kind of photography.
For the love of mountains, he moves to Lake Arrowhead, CA in 1979 and continued his photography studies but always felt the urge to travel. So he set out for his goal to see every National Park.
He’s also done portraits, architectural, sports and event photography. His photograph of a Zamboni was on the cover of the NHL’s annual catalog, (you saw it...well maybe not). Each new photo shoot for him is like pulling new ribbon. And he still carries his camera around his (sore) neck.
